Just making sure you still want to do this, SNUGGUMS? JAGUAR 15:17, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I will get to this before April ends. Snuggums (talk / edits) 16:07, 26 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Infobox
Lead
Gameplay
  • You're right - I replaced all semi-colons with commas. I initially tried splitting it into two sentences but it appeared choppy, but let me know if you want it changed? JAGUAR  10:44, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Added citations as I checked the sources and the game's manual and it turns out they mention the same stuff from the third paragph JAGUAR  10:52, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Plot
  • Do you want me to merge it under Gameplay? I've never seen anyone do that but Donkey Kong Country has a lack of a plot, it just centres around their banana horde being stolen and it was amazing that I could squeeze that much out of it! JAGUAR  10:44, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Development
  • The list contains 50 songs and I think it would disrupt the flow if it was uncollapsed. GAs such as music-orientated Wipeout had collapsed music listings too, but let me know if you OK with it staying this way? JAGUAR  10:50, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Reception
  • According to this source the game sold six million copies within the "holiday seasion" but I couldn't find anything about a time range for the nine million. I assume it's the grand total so I've re-worded this sentence
Legacy
References
  • OverClocked ReMix is good as I've used that on a few GAs before, however I checked the for NowGamer and it appears that they are not a fan site nor are their pages user-submitted content, so I think it'll be OK to keep that one in although I'll ask at WP:VG/RS just to be sure. It is a vital ref too - it's what I used to bring this up to GA. As for Rare Gamer, I discovered it wasn't reliable so I just removed it entirely JAGUAR  13:18, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Overall
  • Manual of Style compliance: Needs some work
  • Reference layout: Mostly good
  • Reliable sources: One unreliable source and several questionable sources
  • No original research: Uncited text and deadlinks need to be addressed
  • Major aspects: The life count and original November 1994 release date needs to be included somewhere within the prose
  • Focused: No excess detail
  • Appropriate licensing: The "n.a." fields in File:Donkey Kong Country advert 001.jpg should be filled out
  • Relevance and captioning: For File:Donkey Kong Country Shot 2.png, I would indicate that Diddy Kong is the one in the air
@SNUGGUMS: thanks for the review! I've made an attempt to address everything, if you want to take a look? As I mentioned above I removed and replaced all unreliable/broken refs and cleaned up the pose along the way JAGUAR  13:23, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The only things left are too merge plot and add original release of November 1994 somewhere within article body. Snuggums (talk / edits) 19:00, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
SNUGGUMS, per WP:VG/GL I have merged the plot under gameplay through a sub-header, as the guideline suggested. The November 1994 release is already mentioned in the lead as with all of the release dates but I mentioned it again at the begenning of the reception section as I thought it would be best suited there. I also mentioned it in the marketing section "from the game's release in November 1994 until April 1995" for safe measure. Please let me know if you want anything else done JAGUAR  21:35, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
The reason I said to include in body was because infobox had a specific date and lead had it as well (albeit not with citations). VG/GL also says to reference anything within gameplay, so stick a ref at the end of plot paragraph and we should be good. Snuggums (talk / edits) 21:40, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Added two refs at the end of the plot section - both are the only simple overviews of the plot I could find. Anyway thanks again! JAGUAR  21:48, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Sure thing, now passing :) Snuggums (talk / edits) 21:55, 1 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
