The following is an archived discussion of the DYK nomination of the article below. Please do not modify this page. Subsequent comments should be made on the appropriate discussion page (such as this nomination's talk page, the article's talk page or Wikipedia talk:Did you know), unless there is consensus to re-open the discussion at this page. No further edits should be made to this page.
Article is new and long enough, with contents copied from parent article given proper attribution, although technically a mainspace move as opposed to a creation at this point. Despite Earwig's results yielding no copyvio, I found close paraphrasing on the Background section (particularly on the first and second sentences), which could also use some copy edits for clarity and sentence flow; the quoted material may even be paraphrased in Wiki's voice. Hook is mildly interesting and cited both in this page and the article, and no QPQ is required for this is nominator's first stab at DYK. I notice that the article's primary author is actually User:223.178.84.233, not the nominator; I've fixed the proper DYK credits. Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 17:52, 14 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
TheNuggeteer and 223.178.84.233, would either of you be able to fix the concerns above? While TheNuggeteer was able to see the review, they did very little to address the copyvio concerns (diff), in which case I might have to fail this nomination. Please be advised. I read the message, I'm going to try and fix the close wording, I'm not really good on this type of editing, so please ping me if needed. TheNuggeteer (talk) 12:22, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, but neither a paraphrase nor a copy edit was done on this revision; the sentence structure is barely different from that of the source text. Rejecting this nomination for noncompliance to WP:DYKCITE and WP:DYKTAG. I've tagged the article with the relevant maintenance templates so that a more experienced editor can resolve the issues.
