Candidates Tournament 2024
There's already a hatnote that explains this. Runner-up is sufficient enough. Caruana's situation is highlighted in the hatnote so it's redundant to repeat it again.

Pragg and Nakamura aren't in first place currently, and as Nakamura has a higher SB score, he is higher on the table than Pragg due to tiebreak regulations.

Women's Candidates Tournament 2024
Same as the Open Candidates, Lichess can't be access pad without an account, so it disqualifies as a open source, secondly, no other sourced opening page lists the verbose name of the openings, so still don't understand why you need to complicate things. For A45, different sites list different things, not always going to be perfect, but TWIC has been used before and generally it's a good source for a general reader and etc.Tags: UndoRevertedMobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit

And the Lichess link doesn't even work (unless you have an account), TWIC doesn't require an account, and especially from chessgames.com, the summary page of the Candidates Tournament only names the short version of the opening (unless you click a specific game in itself), so it baffles me on why you still put the openings in verbose form when the sources don't even reflect that.Tags: RevertedMobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit

Candidates Tournament 2024
In regards to the Firouzja-Gukesh game, one website calls it a Queen's Pawn Game, another calls it an Indian Game, and etc. But the ECO code is A45, which is the code for a Trompowsky Attack, hence it should stay as such. If there was a different ECO code, TWIC would show it (e.g. for one of the games, TWIC could of simply put Sicilian Defence only, but put Sicilian Paulsen as it was actually played. Also, by putting the simplistic form of the openings, it is suitable for the general reader,...Tags: RevertedMobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit

Candidates Tournament 2024
Can we stop making a fuss about the openings please, there is literally no reason to put the verbose name of the openings (e.g. Sicilian Defense: Nyezhmetdinov–Rossolimo Attack can be shortened to Sicilian Rossolimo and Italian Game: Classical Variation, Giuoco Pianissimo can just be simply put as the latter two words). TWIC has been used before, and it's good for a general reader to understand. Also the bolding is unnecessary due to presentation purposes and it sticks out.Tags: UndoRevertedMobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit

→Results by round: Updated openings, also just use the TWIC sources, the openings displayed on TWIC and chessgames.com have small differences which ruins consistency. Also TWIC has all of it's content on one page (including the openings), and it's used for all the other games in this section, so leave it as it is.Tags: Mobile editMobile web editAdvanced mobile edit
