Columbia University
Undid revision 1106493840 by Mr. D. E. Mophon (talk). The style guide is just that, a style guide. It's about how the university should standardize its visual identity in promotional materials etc., not a source on what the university considers to be its official colors. If you want a better source, I have added one.Tags: RevertedVisual edit: Switched

Brown University
Undid revision 1106492881 by Mr. D. E. Mophon (talk). School colors are primarily an athletic matter, if you would hop down to the wikipedia article and check. Picking coats of arms to be the definitive source of school colors is as arbitrary as any other. Simply put, nowhere in your source does it even claim that it's outlining the Brown University colors.Tag: Undo

Columbia University
Undid revision 1106434639 by Mr. D. E. Mophon (talk). The purpose of the guide is the list specific shades of blue for the university, which I don't think would be necessary for white and would therefore account for its omission. On the other hand, you will find sources ranging from the 20th century to the present day online stating that white is also an official university color.Tags: UndoReverted

Template:Columbia
Looks nicer, and makes it visually distinct, which I would argue is an integral part of its function as a navigational tool—these are Columbia's colors, and it lets you know at the bottom of every page with this template that they are unified under this broader theme. Plus, every other university template has coloring. I'm not sure if this is controversial.Tag: Manual revert
