A title is one or more words used before a person's name, in certain contexts. It signifies an official position, or a professional or academic qualification. H J Whitley did not have the nickname Father of Hollywood. It is the title bestowed on him by business associates, newspapers (Hollywood Citizen). I see no historical source stating it is a nickname. added to clear up possible confusion. H J Whitley became Father of Hollywood October 26, 1911, Disney attorneys removed Charles E. Toberman from their site many years ago as he was only given that title recently. If you go to California Adventure in Disneyland you will see there is a Whitley Building on Main Street.
