Pavinsky District (Russian: Па́винский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[5] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,600 square kilometers (620 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Pavino.[1] Population: 3,115 (2021 Census);[7] 5,102 (2010 Census);[2] 6,217 (2002 Census);[8] 7,933 (1989 Census).[9] The population of Pavino accounts for 55.3% of the district's total population.[2]
