Mark Sewards (born 6 January 1990) is a British Labour Party politician who has served as Member of Parliament for Leeds South West and Morley since 2024.[1][2]
Sewards studied Law at the University of Leeds, where was the University Union's Communications and Internal Affairs Officer.[3]
He previously served as a councillor for the Leeds City Council ward of Farnley and Wortley since 2022. In the 2017 and 2019 UK general elections, Sewards stood in the Harrogate and Knaresborough constituency, where he was defeated by the Conservatives on both occasions.
His wife, Alice Smart, has been a Labour councillor for Armley since 2014. Mark also has a son, Oscar Theodore Sewards, who was born on 11 October 2021.
