Christopher James Bloore is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Redditch since 4 July 2024.[1]
Bloore was previously a member of Worcestershire County Council, representing Bromsgrove South; he resigned midway through his term after his election in 2017 to work in Toronto, Canada;[2] his resignation triggered a by-election which was won by the Conservative Party, with Labour finishing fourth.[3] Bloore was selected as the parliamentary candidate for Redditch in February 2024.[4] During the election campaign, it was reported that Bloore has deleted his online employment history.[5]
Bloore's local party website describes him as a "business leader".[6] The Redditch Advertiser notes that he "served as the Chief Executive Officer of Canada’s largest provincial tourism trade association. During the Covid-19 pandemic he worked with government leaders to deliver over £300 million in financial relief that safeguarded thousands of SMEs and helped to protect 100,000 jobs at the height of the pandemic."[7]
Bloore lives in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.[8]
