At the time of the 2006 National Census, the city's population was 3,158 in 807 households, when it was in the former Sarchehan District of Bavanat County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 3,912 people in 1,027 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the city as 3,954 people in 1,259 households.[2]
After the census, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Sarchehan County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Korehi as its capital.[4] Afterwards, the capital of the county was transferred from Korehi to the city of Hesami.[5]
