Wily Mo

[edit]

His name is with one L. Please don't do a move like that again. --badlydrawnjeff talk 20:54, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved this article back and changed all the occurrences of "Willy" to "Wily". Both the references in the article use "Wily" so that's the form the article should use. Gwernol 21:55, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RfA for User:A Train

[edit]

I have removed the RfA you posted for User:A Train. RfAs should not be transcluded into WP:RFA until the nominee has answered the standard questions and formally accepted the RfA. I don't see any evidence that you've even notified A Train that you've done this. Have you told him of the RfA? Thanks, Gwernol 21:24, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Train is an administrator. You can read the full list of admins here. You will also see my name on that list. Your RfA was at least very ill-conceived, since you nominated an editor without first asking them if they wished to be nominated, and you nominated someone who was already an admin. Please take greater care in the future; another admin might well have decided your action was disruptive and blocked you. Take care, Gwernol 21:33, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see that this whole this was sorted out before I even knew about it. I invite you to be more careful in the future, and a bit more tactful when approaching these kinds of things. You left notes on my talk page and to others about my "claiming" to be an admin and presuming that someone had "gifted" me with the role. It would not have taken a great deal of digging for you to have looked at the related Wikipedia practices before making your accusations. Instead, you assumed that something illicit was going on and loudly questioned my integrity. I do hope that you don't treat perfect strangers like this in real life. A user like yourself with 55 edits under his belt would better serve the encyclopedia by making edits to articles and not trying to play Columbo until he is more familiar with the way things work around here. RE: No RfA

[edit]

Hi there! First, I apologise for any confusion that I may have indirectly caused you. The request to keep it confidential was I request I made, and Redux was able to generously acquiesce (so the onus would be on me, if anyone, having "something to hide", not Redux). As mentioned a few sections above, I had previously been a sysop on Wikipedia, voluntarily gave it up under uncontroversial circumstances, and decided to change my username. I appreciate the comment, and please feel free to get back in touch. Cheers gaillimhConas tá tú? 21:58, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So I assume you don't object to the speedy deletion of the RfC. NoSeptember 22:59, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
Non-certified RfCs get deleted anyway as part of RfC policy. If you have withdrawn your concern, it has no reason to exist. NoSeptember 23:07, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Change username

[edit]

Please don't alter other user's rename requests, as you did here. If there is a problem with the request a bureaucrat will inform the requestor. Your edit changed the signature as well which could be seen as deceptive. Thatcher131 22:35, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It has been proposed below that User:Uninsured Driver/Archive1 be renamed and moved to User Talk:Uninsured Driver.

The proposed move should have been noted at Wikipedia:Requested moves.
Discussion to support or oppose the move should be on this talk page, usually under the heading "Requested move." If, after a few days, a clear consensus for the page move is reached, please move the article and remove this notice, or request further assistance.
