In my opinion, the notability of Walt Blackadar is beyond question. He appeared numerous times on American Sportsman; his first descent of Turnback Canyon on the Alsek is part of whitewater lore. He's remembered in a biography. A mountain was named after him!
Contrast that with many paddlers who have articles in Wikipedia due to having participated in one international race—nobody's heard of most of them! Mention Blackadar, and paddlers the world over know who you're talking about.HughieGRex (talk) 12:00, 14 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
