I've noticed that this article doesn't explain much about the prevalence of concussions in sports outside the United States, so I've added a "globalize" hatnote to this article. Jarble (talk) 05:24, 19 March 2013 (UTC)
I am going to add a topic in the "concussions in association football" section regarding concussions growing among girls soccer players. There are many discussions and debates over the matter and I feel as it would benefit the section because it has not been updated for modern issues.KingMidasIsHere (talk) 21:40, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
I'm going to add a section in the concussion in association football over the Hugo Lloris incidence. It was not talked about and I feel it is a crucial point on the topic of concussions and the rules around them.KingMidasIsHere (talk) 21:59, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
I'm going to put in section about headgear in soccer under concussions in association football tab. I feel it is a growing topic needing to be touched on.KingMidasIsHere (talk) 22:07, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
I will be talking about some of the rules about when a player gets a concussion in soccer.
I am removing this table because it is absolutely nonsensical to include.
Sport | Concussion incidence based on study distribution (544 cases) (%) |

Football (American) | 56.8 |
Girls' soccer | 11.6 |
Boys' soccer | 6.6 |
Wrestling | 7.4 |
Girls' basketball | 7.0 |
Softball | 4.0 |
Boys' basketball | 3.5 |
Baseball | 1.5 |
Volleyball | 1.1 |
It lists the sport causing the concussion in a study of 544 high school sports concussions that apparently makes no attempt for those concussions to be representative whatsoever. Please, read the study. It's here

The only reason these concussions were selected, out of the millions that occur each year in the US, is that they happened to be using something called the High School Reporting Information Online (HS RIO) surveillance system. The point of the study was to understand the physiological mechanism behind concussions, and had nothing to do with incident rates in various sports.Jess (talk) 20:59, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

There was a rather prominent concussion in the 2014 world cup final where a German player was on the field ostensibly disoriented for twenty minutes or so. I think this, as well as its handling in the media deserves more attention. Hobbitschuster (talk) 12:45, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
NBA has some concussion policy
I'm unclear what the NBA policy is, but the first paragraph of the NBA sections seems to be obsolete. — Preceding unsigned comment added by L d allan (talk • contribs) 20:07, 6 June 2016 (UTC)
Incidence rates for concussion in boxing may frequently be miscalculated due to the fact that concussions do not always result from a knockout blow.[1]Skyler J Hart (talk) 19:23, 14 December 2016 (UTC)Sykler J. Hart

Incidence rates for concussions in NCAA men's basketball is lower than NCAA women's basketball, at 0.16 concussion per 1,000 athletes compared to 0.22 per 1,000 athletes respectively. The difference is found mainly in competition activity compared to practice. Skyler J Hart (talk) 19:44, 14 December 2016 (UTC)Skyler J. Hart [1]

As many skills as gymnastics involve flipping or a blind landing, incidence of head injury increases. A 15 year study found an incidence of 1.7% for concussion and closed head injury for high school gymnasts. Skyler J Hart (talk) 20:13, 14 December 2016 (UTC)Skyler J. Hart [1]

Hi, I just took a look at this article and the medical content is very much in need of an update. Do you agree that I should add an outdated medical content tag at the start? JenOttawa (talk) 01:01, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
