I vaguely remember having a cutting from the Hull Daily Mail, a local paper, which mentioned that a mother refused to see her daughter because she had not been churched. A local vicar was condemning the practice.

Can someone add infos on other parts of the West? At the moment the section is mainly about England with a short mention about Ireland. I never heard of ceremony myself, so I can't add anything. --Dia^ (talk) 21:30, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
