the edit [1] said he is notable as per various sources, but the article lists a single source and doesnt say why he is considered notable to have an article on its own. Lihaas (talk) 16:21, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely do so to make it better. if an article can be improved then its certainly better grounds for notability. (obviously more global sources, currently it only has jpress and ynet) (ive put a tag for a call to cites for other editors to add some stuff
Perhaps a bio section on his history, then a hezbollah section and subsection on "flight for hezbollah" or some such thing. surely Hezbollah have a reaction to this.Lihaas (talk) 23:34, 14 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You have the wrong ideas about notability. Notability doesnt mean an article has to be big. The article can be expanded however, notability says "multiple reliable sources" (read that template you linked in). The ones here are multiple reliable sources and so its notable. Removed notability tag and might expand it at some time. Dont put in the notability tag again without explaining here what notability means and why this is not notable. --Matt57(talk•contribs)02:30, 15 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
granted, what you said is right, but with merely said enough it can easily be up for a "merge" into another section.
The notable tag was a call to cites, and added discussion, where the alternative would be two editors on different sides (wouldnt get a consensus there.). I agree the right nomination for deletion tag ought not to be here, but the notability tag is for said reason. When the requisite expansion and agreement comes then it can be removed. (hecne the point of the tag).Lihaas (talk) 07:32, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No it cant be merged. Things which are notable, can have their own article, thats what the whole notability issue is about. Cites have been added, they are enough. What is OK is the expansion tag.
Like I said you have the wrong idea about notability. The notability issue is ALWAYS to talk about whether stuff should be deleted or not. Copying from the tag: "This article may not meet the general notability guideline. Please help to establish notability by adding reliable, secondary sources about the topic. If notability cannot be established, the article is likely to be merged, redirected, or deleted.". And thats how it goes.
Do you understand now what notability means? It means whether something is "important" enough to get their own article. How is that importance established? By seeing there were multiple reliable sources significantly covering the subject. --Matt57(talk•contribs)23:17, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
How can this be misleading while he said it? Doesn't the article should be talk about him in general, not just pointing one POV.
