I have two suggestions. Number one, if you add anything to any article please make sure to back it up with as many references as possible. Number two, if someone is too lazy to add the references don't go around and assume that the new content should just be deleted. With Google only a second away you can find all sorts of sources for filling in the blanks and making an article more complete. Do not let the laziness of the original editor force upon us a spirit of trimming down entries on Wikipedia. Instead, I suggest you add a comment to the user page of any member that forgets to cite his sources to request that such action be taken in the future. Thank you for listening.--Saintlink 09:11, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
This is a biography of a living person, so in the event of a lack of a source for a statement, the proper action IS to delete the info. I agree a search should then be made and the info reintroduced if there is a source. Basejumper2 08:17, 5 September 2007 (UTC)
Regarding the photo that User:Molloy is attempting to add: regardless of copyright status, there's no particular reason to tolerate any contributions to Jewish topics by Nazis. I'm usually loathe to use the N-z- word when describing other people, but this should suffice to demonstrate that the nomenclature is accurate. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 6 July 2005 05:06 (UTC)
It's a picture of Foxman: he's not snarling, picking his nose, or eating Christian babies -- though that "Vulcan Death Grip" pose is a bit odd -- so what does it matter what the source is? --Calton | Talk 6 July 2005 06:28 (UTC)
Good picture. Jayjg (talk) 16:41, 28 July 2005 (UTC)
not many words were written about the parents in the holocoust
I suspect that no one would have a problem with creating a section or listing under "Criticisms" the many odd statements that Mr. Foxman has made over the years? There are plenty and I would undertake this take as long as my work is not going to be wiped out with a revert. Any thoughts? Jtpaladin 15:14, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
The section would be extremely long and easy to give sources. It would infuriate all aboard wiki. It would be erased. Forget it.
Go ahead and do it. Wikipedia should never be stopped due to the wants of one particular group to control justified criticism. We can no longer bow down to the oppressive control of certain religious lobbies. If this were about scientologists, muslims, or even catholics would anyone need to ask before posting comments made by a hateful man? NO! So go ahead and put it out for all in the public to see what this man is really about, to gain a complete, uncensored knowledge. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.233.184.124 (talk) 21:19, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Could be integrated into the article as it covers the subject at hand:
Also talks about Tony Judt and Israel lobby in the United States. --70.48.240.99 18:09, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
The differences of opinion between ADL and JPFO seem ill-suited for the controversies section. The quotations provided point to a perpetual disagreement between the two associations rather than any particular controversial episode. To include JPFO would suggest that any group which conflicts with the ADL (and by extension, its director) should likewise be included. Furthermore, this conflict is sufficiently covered in the main JPFO article. Finally, the generous use of JPFO PoV quotations, such as "ADL Support Nazi-Based Laws" and "JPFO Facts vs. ADL Lies," fails to contribute to this sensitive article becoming more NPOV. Therefore, I'm opting to remove it. - CheshireKatz 17:34, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
The references link point to Foxman's disagreement with a congressional resolution, NOT a denial of the Armenian Genocide. The quotation included articulates his position that a reexamination of history by the Turks is warranted, but that the U.S. should remain uninvolved. Later articles also cited include Foxman's recognition of the Armenian genocide, but continue to oppose congressional intervention. - CheshireKatz 17:40, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
This was removed from the body, and I think rightfully so, but I think it ought to just vanish incase there is a way for someone to improve it.--Uncle Bungle (talk) 22:10, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
In recent years he has become a controversial figure because of his central role in winning a presidential pardon from former United States President Bill Clinton for Marc Rich, the international businessman who gave $250,000 to the ADL while Foxman worked for his pardon.[1]
This material has bee reintroduced in a manner which appears imply that the pledge to ADL was to Foxmann directly. This does not appear to be supported by the references cited. [1] FrankFlanagan (talk) 08:03, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

I found a quote which indicates that Foxman believes in the Church theory, the idea that the Church was both directly and indirectly responsible for the Holocaust, to a point where it is almost on par with the Nazi Party, acting together with the Third Reich government in what amounts to a revived Holy Roman Empire. "For almost twenty centuries . . . the Church was the archenemy of the Jews — our most powerful and relentless oppressor and the worlds’ greatest force for the dissemination of Anti-Semitic beliefs and the instigation of the acts of hatred. Many of the same people who operated the gas chambers worshiped in Christian churches on Sunday. . . . The question of the complicity of the Church in the murder of the Jews is a living one. We must understand the truths of our history".
An editor is trying to insert information that labels Foxman a convert to Judaism. I believe this is incorrect as he was born into am yisrael (the Jewish people) and did not freely convert to Catholicism, thus no conversion back to Judaism was required. --Goodmorningworld (talk) 22:15, 18 July 2009 (UTC)
Could someone explain "Nationality: Jewish-American" (in the box)? Is this a nationality? Could it be Israeli-American, or having to do with two passports? -DePiep (talk) 20:10, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Something should be written about his, and his origination's, controversial stance on the proposed building of an islamic cultural center several blocks away from where the twin towers in New York had been. He is against it: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/abraham-h-foxman/the-mosque-at-ground-zero_b_668020.html. This puts him in quite a fringe place, as even fellow pro-Israel commentators such as Alan Dershowitz have criticized his stance http://www.huffingtonpost.com/alan-dershowitz/anti-defamation-league-sh_b_667478.html. He is plainly advocating for religious discrimination against Muslims in the United States, and many are criticizing him and his organization as racist because of it. This also belongs on ADL's page, I guarantee this will be an issue that is brought up again in the future and he and organization are going to lose a lot of credibility and funding because of it 24.207.131.20 (talk) 18:58, 6 August 2010 (UTC) More fall out from his comments: Fareed Zakaria (one of the few muslims in the mainstream american media) has returned an award given to him by the ADl because of their stance on the mosque http://www.adl.org/PresRele/Mise_00/5828_00.htm 24.207.131.20 (talk) 00:26, 7 August 2010 (UTC) And blowback even from inside Israel. http://www.haaretz.com/print-edition/news/the-adl-has-lost-its-way-under-abe-foxman-1.310432 Still; no mention of this in the article I see? 24.207.131.20 (talk) 22:53, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
The opening claims him to be a holocaust survivor but there is nothing in the article indicating such a thing. Typically saying someone is a survivor of the holocaust means that they were imprisoned at an internment camp at one point. Infact it doesn't even sound like he ever lived in German controlled territory during that period let alone having any specific connection the holocaust.
Looking at the IRS 990 tax disclosures, available at the GuideStar website, it appears Foxman was compensated over $344,140 in 2011 and $1,866,965 in 2012 for his work with the ADL. The 2012 salary looks like a typo it is so large for a non-profit salary. If anyone can confirm this I think it would be beneficial for transparency reasons to include his salary from the ADL.
