the original shape of the asterisk was ※ + it has nothing to do with typewriters, because fonts that mimic such typewriters would show five lobes on the regular asterisk as well (look at Courier New for example) + unichar introduces extraneous space; this wasn't its intended purpose and the codepoint ✻ itself isn't really the topic here, we show it for illustration only + Star of David

→Unicode: I see no citation for that (and unless it were the case in a common font, it'd not meet notability guidelines) + the last second implied the restrictions are the reason without stating it which I consider a very foul way of writing; either don't mention it, or state it (with a citation of course)
