It is requested that a change be made to this semi-protected template (see protection log).
This template may only be used when followed by a specific description of the request, that is, specific text that should be removed and a verbatim copy of the text that should replace it. "Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y". The change may be made by any autoconfirmed user. Remember to replace the ((editsemiprotected)) template with ((tlf|editsemiprotected)) when the request has been accepted, rejected or on hold awaiting user input. This so that inactive requests don't needlessly fill up the semi-protected edit requests category. You may also wish to use the ((ESp)) template in the response. |
This template is used to request edits to a semi-protected article on that article's talk page.
Make a new section on the article talk page with a title like "Edit request" and place the code
((editsemiprotected))
accompanied by a clear and specific description of the requested change.
Providing the new sentences or code in your request to be copied directly into the page will expedite the process.
Once a request is handled, it's best to leave the ((editsemiprotected))
tag as an un-transcluded tag by changing its code to
((tlf|editsemiprotected))
This will remove the message box from the talk page and also remove the talk page from the category, while still leaving a record of the request.
You may use ((ESp))
when responding to requests for edits to semiprotected pages. For example, ((ESp|?))
is convenient for responding to insufficiently specific requests.
((editprotected))
— Use this template to request changes to a page that has been fully protected.
