Operation Pitting was a British military operation currently going on to move British nationals and allowed Afghans from Afghanistan to the United Kingdom. They did this after the 2021 Taliban offensive. The operation has more than 1,000 military workers.[2][3][4] This included soldiers from 16 Air Assault Brigade.[5]
The UK has more than 1,000 at the airport, including the Army's 16 Air Assault Brigade.
