Myalgia means "muscle pain" and is a symptom of many diseases and disorders. It can involve ligaments, tendons and fascia, the soft tissues that connect muscles, bones and organs.[1]

Injuries, trauma, certain drugs and illnesses can all bring about myalgia[1].The most common causes are the overuse or over-stretching of a muscle or group of muscles.

Myalgia without a traumatic history can be due to viral infections.
