The Chakri dynasty is a royal family in Thailand. It's also known as the Rattanakosin dynasty. The Chakri dynasty began in 1782, with King Rama I becoming its first king.[1]
King Rama I established the Chakri dynasty. He transferred Thailand's capital from Thonburi to Bangkok.
The Chakri Dynasty's current ruler is king Vajiralongkorn. He is also known by the name King Rama X. Following his father's death, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, he was crowned king in 2016.[2]
