Agriotes is a genus of beetles in the family Elateridae. These beetles are called "click beetles". The genus contains many species. They are found in the Americas, Asia and much of Europe.[3]
The larvae, called "wireworms", feed on roots of plants and also on seeds lying on the ground. They are considered pests by farmers because they damage crops.[4]
