Talas Region (Kyrgyz: Талас областы) is a province (oblast) o Kyrgyzstan. Its caipital is Talas. It is bordered on the wast an north bi Jambyl Province o Kazakhstan, on the east bi Chui Province, on the sooth bi Jalal-Abad Province an on the soothwast bi a finger o Uzbekistan. It is basically a U-shaped valley open tae the wast. The northren mairch is defined bi the Kyrgyz Ala-Too, which an aa form the soothren mairch o Chuy Province. At the eastren end, the Talas Ala-Too Range splits aff an marks the soothren border. The Talas River flows throu the centre o the valley. The main hieway (A361) enters frae the east ower the Ötmök Pass (closed in winter) an goes doun the valley tae Taraz in Kazakhstan.
