Abu Snan (Arabic: أبو سنان; Hebrew: אַבּוּ סְנָן) is an Arab local cooncil in the Galilee region o northren Israel, wi an aurie o 4,750 dunams (4.75 km²). It achievit recognition as an unthirlt local cooncil in 1964.
Unner the name Tusyan, probably a corruption o Busenan, Abu Snan wis mentioned as pairt o the domain o the Crusaders durin the hudna atween the Crusaders based in Acre an the Mamluk sultan al-Mansur (Qalawun) declared in 1283.[1]
In 1596, Abu Snan appeared in Ottoman tax registers as bein in the Nahiya o Akka o the Liwa o Safad. It haed a population o 102 Muslim hoosehaulds an 3 bachelors.[2]
Abu Snan haed a population o 11,900 bi Juin 2008, o which 54.7% are Muslim, 26.4% are Druze, an 18.9% are Christian.
