Assur (ka Aššur ja Qal'at Sherqat; süüria keeles ܐܫܘܪ Āšūr vanapärsia keeles 𐎠𐎰𐎢𐎼 Aθur, farsi keeles آشور Āšūr, heebrea keeles אַשּׁוּר Aššûr, araabia keeles اشور Āšūr, kurdi keelesAsûr) oli linn Vana-Lähis-Idas, Assüüria riigi pealinn peaaegu kogu selle eksistentsi vältel: Vana-Assüüria pealinn 2025–1750 eKr, Kesk-Assüüria pealinn 1365–1050 eKr ja Uus-Assüüria pealinn 911–608 eKr. Linna varemed asuvad Tigrise jõe läänekaldal, põhja pool selle ühinemiskohta lisajõe Väike-Zabiga tänapäeva Põhja-Iraagis, Şalāḩ ad-Dīni kubernerkonna Al-Shirqati piirkonnas. Assurist põhja poole jääb 65 km kaugusele Nimrud ja 100 km kaugusele Ninive.
