Seeking advice regarding separate pages for Mills College after Northeastern acquisition[edit]

Hi everyone, I'm brand new to Wikipedia so please bear with me. On Mills College at Northeastern University someone began to discuss making separate pages for the entities pre and post merger/acquisition. I am currently a student here and recently decided to look into the issue further. I took the issue to the Wikipedia Discord to get further guidance, and was advised to bring the discussion here to get more eyes on the discussion. Bayshore City[edit]

I've posted a stub for Bayshore City, California, an area that was incorporated from late 1932 to early 1940. This sort of geographical article is outside my general practice, but when I saw that there was no page for this little built-for-greyhound-racing city, I reckoned I'd do my part to give others something to build from. I've integrated where appropriate, but someone more used to these sort of articles should lay hands on it. (One oddity for it is that, given its specific dates of existence, it likely eluded being tracked by any census.) -- Nat Gertler (talk) 14:47, 23 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Monterey, California: did the Bay come first, or the City[edit]

Just thought I would post here as well as on the Teahouse about this quandary I’m having. I don’t want to seem like I’m making an edit in bad faith, and I don’t know if the Bay came first or second. I acknowledge that I am splitting hairs over this issue, but it never hurts to check.

Jim Goetz[edit]

Hello, last month I offered a suggested addition to the Jim Goetz article using its Talk page. As a Californian, his article is listed under this WikiProject, and the request pertains in part to his gift of a renovated movie theater to the city of Los Gatos. If someone finding this message is willing to review it, I would be grateful. I will not edit the page myself, I have a financial COI—he is a client of my firm. Criteria for inclusion[edit]

Hi. Does anyone know what the criteria for inclusion here is? I ask because I noticed that the single &Run has the Wikiproject California template, but they don't seem to be associated with California in anyway what-so-ever. At least it's not clear in the article how they are associated with the state. It's possible the music video was shot in Los Angeles, but then it doesn't seem to be notable for that if it was. So anyway, does essentially anything even slightly related to California qualify for Wikiproject California, even if the connection isn't notable or mentioned in the article, or is there some other criteria? Thanks. Adamant1 (talk) 11:16, 3 December 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Maybe it's because the band Sir Sly is formed and based in Orange County. I don't think it should be included. The single is not directly associated with California in any way. 94rain Talk 06:29, 7 January 2024 (UTC)Reply[reply]
