The purpose of this page, along with the companion Washington newspapers WikiProject page, is to support creating and improving Wikipedia articles about Washington newspapers. Here, we collect bibliographic information (for footnotes) and notes about source materials that can support composing these articles. These source materials generally include books, academic journal articles, and news articles about Washington journalism and newspapers.
Any newspaper with an entry in at least one of these resources is likely to be notable enough to merit a Wikipedia article.

Try searching newspaper databases for the names of newspapers or for journalism-related topics. While some newspaper archives are on the open Internet, the most useful articles are often in paywalled or specialized databases. Several options are:
