Overview[edit]

The project coordinators will be generally responsible for maintaining the procedural and administrative aspects of the project. They will be the designated points-of-contact for procedural issues and will be responsible for ensuring that the project as a whole is properly informed of them.

To provide some examples of coordinator duties: the coordinators will manage the proposal and creation of new task forces; ensure that project announcement and task lists are kept up-to-date; initiate drafting of guidelines needed by the project; organize the category system; oversee the recruitment of new members, including the use of project notices and other advertising methods; create and maintain collaborative projects if any; maintain the project page and the various guidelines in it in a clean and easy-to-use state; monitor technical policies and ensure that project templates satisfy them, and assist in organizing and promoting any Backlog Elimination Drives.

They are also expected to generally assist project members with any questions or concerns.

The coordinator positions will not entail any executive power.

Greetings! I am here to nominate myself for the role of Guild of Copy Editors coordinatorship. Despite my basic understanding of copy-editing (I would rate myself 7 out of 10, although I am still learning), I believe I possess some of the attributes which are relevant to this role, including availability and the willingness to work hard and assist in behind-the-scene tasks. Hello everyone, I'm The Utahraptor. I joined the Guild in April of 2010, and since then, I have participated in every Backlog elimination drive. I became a coordinator in last year's election (December 2010), but I had to back out in about March due to personal issues. These personal issues have virtually all cleared up, and now I expect to have more free time on my hands. I was elected coordinator in the June 2011 election, and I feel I did a fair job as assistant coordinator. I haven't exactly been heavily active on Wikipedia lately, but it's mostly due to the holiday season. After the holiday season is over, I should be free and my activity level should increase, so I feel I can assist the Guild again as an assistant or as the lead coordinator.
The reason for me wanting to be the lead coordinator is that, although the Guild is prospering and running smoothly, there are a couple issues that must be addressed. For example, there's a slight delay in the sending out of project newsletters, the mentorship program hasn't taken full wing yet, and participation in our Backlog elimination drives has decreased. If elected lead coordinator, I will address these concerns to my best ability, and by the end of my term, the mentorship program will be operational, there will be no delay in newsletter sending, etc. If you have any questions for me, please leave them below.
