Description[edit]

Improve Jimmy Dore's Page, to more resemble an encyclopedia article.

More than just a "jagoff nightclub commedian", let's emphasize Jimmy's quite noteworthy contributions to journalism, media criticism, political social commentary, and (as we can see with his #ForceTheVote campaign), as a brilliant political strategist.

Jimmy is the Voice of the Voiceless. Jimmy's art is a Fanfare for the Common Wo/Man as beautiful as Aaron Copeland's. He's funny, smart, and motivated for compassion for the regular, working-class guy or gal.

Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?
I am looking for editors willing to specifically patrol Jimmy Dore's page. It is under heavy NPOV vandalism, and doxxing, by persons who,
  1. ) strip out factual information which portrays Jimmy in a positive light, and
  2. ) inject facts which show Jimmy in a negative light,
  3. ) throw shade on his reputation, or personal or journalistic integrity,
  4. ) censor news where Jimmy himself is the subject, seemingly significant for an encyclopedia article, and
  5. ) add slurs like "conspiracy theories" and "grifter", in the article and in edit comments.

Commentary on Jimmy's (understated) importance[edit]

Jimmy Dore is one of my own personal heroes. He is one of the best anti-war voices of our age.
I believe Jimmy Dore is performing a CRITICAL role as a Journalist, Social Critic, Media Critic, and as we can see with #ForceTheVote, a Political Strategist.
For my entire life (60 years as I write this), our political system has been broken. The Democratic Party has become enclosed and no longer serves the people. Journalism has been enclosed and now lies and distorts in order to serve the Billionaires. The NGOs and non-profits have constrained speech due to tax law 26 USC §501.
Every government function, every bank, every private corporation and NGO has been co-opted.
Jimmy Dore is calling out and INDICTING the MEDIA, and the Democratic Party, like NO ONE ELSE. Calling them out for Lies, War Crimes, and Public Corruption. Subverting the Rule of Law. There is nearly no one else with Jimmy's reach doing the work Jimmy is doing!
Jimmy Dore is a SERIOUS DUDE of our age, yet his Wikipedia entry looks like a PR Hit Piece/Smear Job. WTF?

Jimmy Dore in a Historical Context of Similar Artists[edit]

I see Jimmy as the natural heir to the throne in the succession Lenny Bruce, Richard Prior, George Carlin, Bill Hicks.
Frank Zappa, Monty Python, Harvey Kurtzman, R. Crumb and the Underground Comix and Banksy are arguably similar artists who's art is cutting-edge social criticism.
Jimmy's art exists within a continuum, a long history of artists, dating back 2,000 years who often travel and perform comedy and music, while also performing a journalistic role, often mocking the Burgermeister or Mayor before a speedy exit! The Goliards, Skalds, Troubadours, Minstrels, Bards, and Jongleurs, just to name a few.

Issues we will face[edit]

How is CNN a Reliable source, yet Jimmy Dore is not?

Why should Jimmy's own material be banned from use for biographical material? Who is a more authentic source for biographical material than the subject himself?

Why is a discussion of the issues which arise from his art (e.g., criticism of CNN, WaPo, NYTimes, and the "Fact Checkers") banned as a "self-published source", but the subject of Jimmy's criticism (said corporate media giants) are allowed as WP cites, because they are considered "mainstream" and "reliable" (both are demonstrably false).

Any discussion of Jimmy's art (his television programs), are prohibited by malicious reverting editors because this is "self-publishing". But I consider this is like a Frank Zappa or a Banksy page which does not discuss his music, because it is "self-published".

Personal motivation[edit]

I am undertaking this partly to improve Jimmy's page, as a powerful anti-war and progressive voice. But I also want to understand how Wikipedia is being gamed to allow these malicious edits to stand.
If you are an experienced Wikipedia editor (or are willing to learn), and most especially, a Jimmy Dore fan, this project may be for you!
