Fort Dearborn -- Would like to possibly include this into the Feature Topic we are creating on the Black Hawk War if it attains GA, and if it was even involved with the war. I think it was used for refuge and resupply.Kranar drogin 23:26, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Article not WP:DYK eligible. Already over 2350 characters.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 00:45, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Actually it is, you would just have to expand it to 10-12000 characters or so. Doesn't matter to me that you don't want to do it, I was just putting it out there.--Kranar drogin 01:49, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- This has nothing to do with my interest or disinterest in the article or your objective for it. My understanding of the DYK rules is that an article must begin at less than 1500 characters before 5 fold expansion.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 23:44, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- The rule was modified on July 27th. I am not sure how much consideration will truly be given to longer articles, but I can tell you it is extremely difficult to achieve a 5 fold expansion on articles larger than 1500 characters. Above I have suggested we stick with a 1500 max. We can discuss this policy further on the talk page. --TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/tcfkaWCDbwincowtchatlotpsoplrttaDCLaM) 01:51, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It seems that the good ideas are drying up. I forsee myself reviewing failed nominees from earlier weeks for candidates this week. Next week likely we will use newly created stubs from the 5/9 COTW. By May 30, I expect that the bot will have completed much of the tagging and we will have a long list of newly found autostubbed articles to choose from. However suggestions are still welcome. We could find articles needing our efforts better if we used our collaboration time to go out and tag articles with ((ChicagoWikiProject)) for a week. I have the categories set up. In a couple of weeks, I should have assessment guidelines set up and know where to direct everyone to look for articles needing our tags. I nominate a week of tagging articles as the collaboration.
