Suspected sockpuppets
Evidence submitted by Jeff3000
These editors appear at similar times and start editing the same pages with the same point of view. Looking at their contributions
Shayan7 and Special:Contributions/Pejman7 and particularly at their contributions and their style of Nawruz and Talk:Nawruz. Their arguments and style of editing is the same. Jeff3000 (talk) 17:30, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Suspected sockpuppets
Late update 00:35, 12 October 2010 (UTC):
All engaged in promotion for Pejman Akbarzadeh --- filling up the Iranians in the Netherlands page with political protests, non-profit organisations, and activities he's engaged in. Only the last IP listed is active now --- the others are stale and are just noted here for record-keeping purposes. Some are in the Netherlands while the remainder are in other European countries, but they are all repeating the exact same edit (see below for details).
Similarities to earlier sockpuppets:
- Shayan7 engaged in promotion for Pejman Akbarzadeh, e.g.: [1] (adding a photo of a concert by Akbarzadeh), just like the new suspected sockpuppets (see edits listed below).
- Shayan7 disliked the name "Iran" and went around changing various instances of it to "Persia", e.g. [2]. Pejman does the same, e.g. [3][4][5]
Similarities between the new sockpuppets:
- PersianDutchNetwork: commons:User:PersianDutchNetwork uploads photos at Commons listed as "own work", relating mostly to activities of Pejman Akbarzadeh, and stating that they were taken by Pejman Akbarzadeh. So that user seems to be Mr. Akbarzadeh himself. Example: File:DeDoelenPersianProtester.JPG
- The others are all repeating this erroneous edit made by Pejman (which duplicates material from the preceding paragraph and adds a mention of a radio report done by Pejman Akbarzadeh which gives absolutely no new information):
Thanks. cab (call) 08:07, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And there's yet another WP:DUCK re-adding that radio report (note this is after the checkuser done below):
Thanks, cab (call) 00:01, 11 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed
- Administrator note Both confirmed socks blocked. Likewise for Gstps2. I'm less sure about the second possible. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:36, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Administrator note I've indef blocked both Mcreez and Shayan7. Shayan7 was blocked back in March for puppeting, yet I see similarities in editing, particularly on Iranians in the Netherlands and Radio Zamaneh. The usernames are also similar enough that I think this is more than just a coincidence. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 03:19, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Clerk note: A close one. Definitely enough for a check if it were possible and not stale, but I'm not sure whether this falls under WP:DUCK. The closest match in my opinion is between diffs 9 and 10. Would another clerk like to comment? King of ♥ ♦ ♣ ♠ 02:48, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shayan7 has been blocked in 2010. Leo71538 voted in an article which was created in 2009 by Shayan7. These accounts were all engaged in promotion of Pejman Akbarzadeh, director of this documentary which is currently nominated for deletion. Also they were involved in edit warring on Radio Zamaneh article. Leo71538 removed some critical claims from Radio Zamaneh article. Leo71538 also insisted to put a non reliable source which cites a book by Mr. Akbarzadeh. In this discussion he accepted that the source is a community website but didn't revert his edit and was ready to break out an edit war on it. He also made this promotional edit again for Mr. Akbarzadeh. Farhikht (talk) 16:26, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Khafesho makes similar edits as Shayan7: Changing Iran to Persia: [37] and adding promotional content for Persian Dutch Network: [38].Farhikht (talk) 18:50, 21 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Khafesho also removed AfD notice from the documentary created by Pejman Akbarzadeh. Note these two post on my talk page and Leo71538's.Farhikht (talk) 15:27, 22 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Dear Farhikht, I traced your complains about the writer of the book and I came to this conclusion that it seems you have a big personal problem with him. I checked your contributions on Wiki and noted that you just search his name and delete whatever is produced/written by him. I just searched his name as well on the internet and noted in the filed of music, journalism and Iranian studies he is quite active. Various works by him also have been used by both media and academic circules. Leo71538 has already mentioned some of them.
- So When someone's works are available online and they are good enough, there is no problem that we use them on Wiki as well. You regularly just mention his name and do not pay any attention to the work itself! If you find mistakes or problems in them then mention it please. For example in case of Jalil Shahnaz you once removed the reference to the book "Persian Musicians" because it's 'promotional'. Then we should not use any book as our references in Wiki! I read that text. It's a simple text on the artistic career of the maestro and has no promotional goal/content. A lot of Persin-language websites also has quoed from the book when Jalil Shahnaz passed away.
- Your contrubutions' history shows that you have also removed the refrences related to this book in the followsing pages:
- PARVIZ MAHMOUD(composer)
- HOSSEIN NASSEHI (composer)
- SYMPHONISCHE DICHTUNGEN AUS PERSIEN (LP disc), for this entry you have not provided any reference either and we can not use AMAZON as a reference!
- etc.
- And recently you have nominated the page for his documentary film Hayedeh Legendary Persian Diva ! HELLO ! What is going on?! Let's respect those who are productive in such fields and pay attention to the content of their work. Stay away from personal issues please.
The reason that IRANIAN has been changed to PERSIAN in the article 1921 Persian coup d'etat is since 1930s Iran was externally known as Persia. Documents, newspapers articles and other English-language materials refers to the counntry in 1921 enets as Persia so using the term IRANIAN was not technically correct.
Regarding Shahrzad Sepanlou's video also yes I added the name of the producer because it was mentioned on the video. Good luck.--Khafesho (talk) 19:27, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Checkuser note: - User:Leo71538 and User:Khafesho are both Possible socks of User:Farmokopole. Behavioral evidence will need to be watched further, IMO. Incidentally, I did find (and block) User:MoMoShah (no edits) as a sock. Frank | talk 08:52, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- There simply isn't enough to go on here. Both CU and contribution comparisons suggest these accounts may be controlled by the same person, but I'm not sure. The sock was not blocked in the last check, please see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet_investigations/Shayan7/Archive#19_July_2013. Old evidence: 1) user edits Hayedeh Legendary Persian Diva, created by User:Shayan7 and heavily edited by all his socks, and 2) user changes "Iranian" to "Persian" wherever possible. New evidence: User:Khafesho is adding photos uploaded by the blocked sock User:PersianDutchNetwork:

- I've blocked the account as a sock, as the recent edits (1, 2, 3, 4) are similar to those of the confirmed sock. (5, 6, 7). Mike V • Talk 18:10, 30 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
