I would like to be able to make changes to Modules and Templates which are now more tightly protected (I am finding fewer and fewer of them that I can still edit). Uzume (talk) 04:09, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Uzume: Could you articulate what kind of work on protected templates you intend to perform? — JFG talk 04:21, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
They vary but probably things related to structure and organization, e.g., Wikidata. Right now I am thinking to add better Wikidata linking to a number of templates that use such by adding things like ((EditAtWikidata)) or similar (perhaps adding categorization too based on if parameters match or do not match Wikidata, etc.). Some example templates I have considered include: ((DBLP)), ((Isfdb title)), ((Isfdb name)), ((MathGenealogy)). Uzume (talk) 05:08, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

 Not done – no demonstrated need (criteria 5 and 6) — JJMC89(T·C) 06:42, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I am not going to argue this (as I have little inclination to go about proving things) and I will just say that I have done plenty of sandbox requests over the years but if I have to get someone else to apply changes from a sandbox, there is little reason to do so under my logged in account. You didn't look hard enough. Uzume (talk) 07:09, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I'm puzzled: what reason would there be not to use your account when working on sandboxes? And we can't "look hard" at what you do when not logged in: first it's your job to bring forward your expertise in template editing, second IP addresses are not matched to logged-in users, and we couldn't find your edits even if we tried. — JFG talk 07:50, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
