Travb[edit]

Both User:Dance With The Devil and User:Travb have numerous articles in common, this alone would not be suspicious with an editor with a large edit count, however it seems the majority of Dance's original edits all coincide with articles Travb has edited, some with as little as 20 edits total. The difs are below with a brief description, only examining the first 20 edits of Dance.

American civil religion an article created by Travb [1] is edited Dance with the Devil's 3rd edit. Another article created by Travb Estate of Rodriquez v. Drummond Co. contains less than 20 edits, and is Dance's 9th edit. Another article Travb participated on Alien Tort Statute is Dance's 10th edit, as he created a redirect for the page[2].

Dance's 7th and 8th edits are to Philippine-American War in which Travb has edited repeatedly: [3][4][5]. Dance's 14th edit is to George Kennan (explorer) in which Travb has edit repeatedly as well: [6][7][8]. Dance's 19th editis to William Francis Buckley where Travb again has edited: [9][10].

While not an edit in common, on the same day Travb is working on articles on the CIA, December 11, 2007, Dance is working on another article involving the CIA: [11][12]

Considering the majority of Dance's first edits all coincide with Travb, it appears they are a sockpuppet of the user.

There was additional concern they may also be User:Relata refero due to further shared edit histories. The term is a form of legal jargon of which Travb is currently in law school, shared edit histories and a linking name are suspicious, however I have not examined the proof full regarding Relata refero and so I will not argue the point fully myself. --N4GMiraflores 15:24, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Where's the allegation that the user is doing anything wrong? Also, Relata refero was confirmed to be a sockpuppet of User:Kuntan. SWATJester Son of the Defender 22:12, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I know, RR was not confirmed as being a sockpuppet of anyone. Where did you hear or see that he was confirmed as a sock? Nishkid64 (Make articles, not love) 02:42, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
WTF?? --Relata refero (disp.) 08:41, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Travb[edit]

Travb has essentially departed that username, making only one edit in the last several months [13]. He has a long history of association with the State terrorism by the United States article including moving the article [14] which is the same thing User:Divestment has done recently, to the same title name again [15] and after it was again changed, Divestment again changed it back once more. All above IP's have edited some portion of the State terrorism by the United States or associated talk page and or the most recent Afd, which close less than a week ago. IP 69.150.51.11 WP:CANVASSed a number of editors who he knew would be likely to be sympathetic to voting keep on the last Afd for this article.[16], [17], [18], [19], [20], [21], [22] All IP's appear to be from the same location in the U.S.MONGO 13:17, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Additional information needed And so what grounds are there for this checkuser request? --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 15:22, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mainly the effort to use a number of different IPs to canvass and or edit war. I don't see any overlap or evidence that the same IP ever voted twice on anything, just a lot of the same edits and was simply trying to determine, since they all have contributed to the same article mentioned, if they are from the same editor. I already know that, in all likelihood they are, but it would be nice to have more solid proof. Divestment may not be related. The first three IP's all were working the afd on the article on the same day and the top one spammed editors which may have affected the outcome of the afd as most of those he contacted voted to keep the article.--MONGO 15:28, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Confirmed that Travis == Divestment. The IPs are all dynamic, but are probably him too. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 19:54, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you.--MONGO 22:00, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
