Bobtoo[edit]

The editors I have listed are repeatedly restoring disputed text to Death of Marilyn Monroe and defending their actions on Talk:Death of Marilyn Monroe. The disputed text asserts that a former FBI agent "claims to have seen Robert Kennedy and other men go inside her home at the time of her death". This text cites a gossip column in the New York Daily News, which in turn cites (the little-known producer of an unfinished documentary, as its source. These editors have also repeatedly restored the gossip column URL to the "External links" section.

I had requested an RfC for the article (diff); User:Dlabtot was the only established editor to respond and he agreed with my position(diff). On October 8 User:Hoary added an entry about the article on WP:AN/I (diff). On October 9 I blocked Bobtoo for 3RR. On October 10, Bobtoo responded on his talk page with a legal threat (diff), and User:Mr.Z-man blocked him for an indefinite time period. On October 11, the pattern of edits reappeared.

Three Four of the IP addresses are based in New York City (and two three share the same ISP and subnet); one is based in India (but its edits are suspicious).

Except where noted, all of the edits in the following list were to either Death of Marilyn Monroe or Talk:Death of Marilyn Monroe.

May I ask why? I wouldn't want to put this much effort into a future request, if I knew that I'd done something wrong this time. Thanks, -- Gyrofrog (talk) 18:13, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did not see any need for a check. If I was to disclose, for instance, that the accounts were all owned by the same person, would you seek to get them blocked? You've not layed out enough evidence that that would be appropriate. As such, I saw no need for a check. If you wish to represent your evidence such that you make the need for a check and the policy violations clearer, then I will look at the case again. --Deskana (talk) 23:32, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
