What prompted me to not vote delete was there was an actual incoming link (which I corrected before voting) which led me think this could be a plausible mistake. Jay 💬 16:57, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed, I remain uncertain whether this is a mistake, a valid alternative name or something else (e.g. a disparaging nickname) - or possibly it's more than one of these. Thryduulf (talk) 17:05, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Controversial redirect whose article to which it is targeted does not mention that the name of the redirect is the common name. Also, it was created by a sockpuppet user. 2x2leax (talk) 06:59, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Similar nominations merged. Steel1943 (talk) 07:36, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Delete Unlike the Cultural Revolution, there is nothing in the article that describes the Great Leap Forward as a genocide or similar. The GLF is instead described as a politicide. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 04:20, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I feel like this emoji could just as easily be representing a flame, which is where it might be better to point to (emojipedia, for example, describes this emoji as depicting "a flame"). — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 18:36, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to Harpo Productions. Nominally no consensus, defaulting to retarget in the absence of support for the status quo. signed, Rosguill talk 19:22, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like a potential WP:XY issue pertaining to the target subject and Harpo Productions. Either way, the use of the word "Harpo" in regards to Oprah Winfrey ("Harpo" is "Oprah" backwards) refers more to the company "Harpo Productions", given that the biographical subject is not usually, if ever, referred to as "Harpo". The result of the discussion was keep. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 02:11, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Should this redirect here, or the main Hamas article? GnocchiFan (talk) 23:14, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep. The term "Hamas militants" going to the article on the military wing of Hamas (that is, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades) is very logical and sensible. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 13:38, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I understand that logic, but is this what the term "Hamas militants" means in common parlance? GnocchiFan (talk) 16:56, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think so. All of the regular forces of Hamas would fall under that umbrella, from what I understand. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 20:56, 3 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the discussion was retarget to String section. (non-admin closure) CycloneYoris talk! 02:12, 24 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Potentially unclear if this redirect is meant to refer to the target, or to String section which contains reference to a "first violin" section rather than a sole individual. Steel1943 (talk) 05:40, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See definition 2 at: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/first_violin
Samw (talk) 12:01, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think wiktionary is officially "RS": and I do not think this definition is correct. As the second definition suggests, the "number one violin" in an orchestra is called the "leader" in Britain, the "concertmaster" in America. But otherwise, the expression "first violin" (usu/often plural) refers to the first violin part or players, as the first defn. at wiktionary says, before it goes off the rails.
