Unless there is another fish other than Betta splendens with an English common name of "Chinese fighting fish", which Google does not seem to know about after a quick search, then I think the redirect should stay. Someone searching for fighting fish who is not very knowledgeable may well search for Chinese fighting fish, conflating China with Southeast Asia. - Nick Thorne ^talk 21:43, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I'm not really sure... a lot of geographical places could be wrongly conflated with others due to a lack of knowledge, but that could be a slippery slope; what's to stop someone from creating a redirect like "Canadian Civil War" redirecting to the American Civil War, or Irish Raj redirecting to the British Raj?
