Talk:New Paltz, New York

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was moved Talk:New Paltz (town), New York to Talk:New Paltz, New York. Dabomb87 (talk) 16:32, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Basically, the article New Paltz (town), New York was moved to New Paltz, New York, with the old New Paltz, New York page becoming New Paltz, New York (disambiguation). However, Talk:New Paltz, New York became a redirect to the disambig's talk page, and the proper talk page -- Talk:New Paltz (town), New York -- was never moved.

The result of the discussion was keep. — ξxplicit 00:13, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article was AFD'd at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Electronic hardcore. The result of the discussion was that the article was largely original research and to delete, not redirect. The same information (with the same sources) that was deemed original research and deleted as such is also at Post-hardcore#Electronic. The section at Post-hardcore should be removed just as the article was, and the redirect should not exist either. Fezmar9 (talk) 22:05, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Also not mentioned in target; see Yerf discussion below. (What's more, the site's not called Yiffstar anymore.) Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 19:55, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Is anyone ever gonna type that in down to the exact number of E's? I doubt it. Very unlikely search term. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 19:55, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I disambiguated the redirect to The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson#Ed McMahon. --UncleDouggie (talk) 08:59, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not mentioned in target. See Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2009_July_16#VCL_.28Vixen_Controlled_Library.29, a similar redirect that was deleted. To quote one delete !vote from that RFD, "not every website deserves a page or even a mention without secondary sources (per WP:WEB), and we're not a linkfarm. Like WP:EL, including every possible redirect for a website that somehow relates to the page topic is an invitation for spam and is not what wikipedia is about." Confusing and implausible redirect. I moved Amberley Wild Brooks (Ireland) to Amberley Wild Brooks (song), and the move left behind this confusing redirect. While the song was composed by John Ireland, putting "(Ireland)" at the end of the title implies that this article refers to a place in Ireland, not to a song by the composer Ireland. The result of the discussion was Re-targeted to Education and training of electrical and electronics engineers. -- JLaTondre (talk) 12:37, 11 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Delete. Because "Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering" is a generic name and almost all engineering universities have that department. This has nothing to do with Anna University specifically. Note: No incoming links. Akilan (talk) 12:01, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
