The result of the discussion was Keep - brion (a tech guy for the WMF) said on a discussion page on Commons that redirects should be kept for all images unless there was a very good reason do to so. It is important to remember that many people link to Wikipedia all over the internet, and we should try to avoid creating dead links for them if at all possible.
