The result of the discussion was Keep - While I take the point about threats seriously, and while it would be nice if people followed WP:NOT#BATTLEGROUND, the consensus is pretty clear here that a farcical threat can't really be analogised to a plausible threat that way. Until there are actual killings from writing someone's name in a book, I can't close against this kind of headcount. WilyD 09:03, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think the joke went a wee bit too far here. I'm not a fan of WP vandals either, but I don't think it is appropriate to have a userbox that suggests they should all be killed. Beeblebrox (talk) 01:34, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And that would rather be the point. To everyone not "in on the joke" it just looks like a death threat. Beeblebrox (talk) 06:12, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
While the joke may be in bad taste, it does not, in fact, pose any harm, and no one would seriously think it does; it's obviously a joke, even if you don't get the joke.-- 09:55, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Apparently it is something to do with adding "no include" tags. That's a new one on me, I've never added them when adding an MFD tag before, but it should be fixed now. Beeblebrox (talk) 06:12, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I find it somewhat strange that everyone is saying it is ok to make a death threat because it is tied to an anime series. Unfortunately this nom seems to have drawn out anime fans and not just a random sampling of WP users, who I suspect as a group would not feel that this was appropriate. Beeblebrox (talk) 16:34, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So just because a user enjoys anime/manga their opinion is automatically invalidated? I'm finding your argument to be fairly narrow minded, and frankly, I think you should apologize for lumping all anime fans as "a group [that] would not feel that this was appropriate", as if to imply that we're all of lax morals because we like anime/manga. And of the keep votes already in this discussion, only two (not including myself, since I created it) are active WP:ANIME participants. How would you, then, account for the keep votes from the other two users, User:Scott5114 and User:SarekOfVulcan, who (as far as I know, being an active member in WP:ANIME) don't regularly edit anime/manga related articles? Not to mention that it's hard to take you seriously when you make comments like this as an administrator. -- 22:21, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
And so you are canvassing with a biased invitation as shown here: WP:VPM#Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Anime and manga/Userbox/User Death Note 3? I would have thought you'd be more careful about how you worded your invitations to participate. As it is, the wording of that invitation is clearly showing your bias, and therefore violates the spirit and letter of WP:CANVASSING. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 17:04, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, did you want to yell at me here or there? Please choose one location, the wording of your remarks is clearly showing your intent to WP:FORUMSHOP and violates the spirit of WP:WHATEVERWHOCARES. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:18, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No one is yelling unless you are. I'm not forum shopping, either, and I have no idea where you got that idea. You chose to comment in multiple places, so I replied in multiple places. Sorry if you don't like that. Your original invitation for people to participate was not worded in a neutral manner; that's the extent of what I was pointing out. ···日本穣? · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 08:50, 9 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
WikiProject group think isn't anything new. A competent closing admin will take into account if the participation is unduly narrow when closing. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 18:20, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
