User:Sillybillypiggy/Vandalism space[edit]

• Comment I am STRONGLY AGAINST the idea the vandalism spaces violate WP:DENY. Vandals don't actually get recognition by vandalising vandal spaces. Besides, he only way a vandal can get to know about these spaces is by looking at the userspace of a user who had reverted his edits. WP:ENC does not apply here per WP:NOTPAPER. As for WP:UP#GAMES, vandalising is NOT 'Games, roleplaying sessions, secret pages and other things pertaining to "entertainment" rather than "writing an encyclopedia"'.   1. WP:DENY applies; see WP:DENY#Encouragement: Making a big thing out of this issue [vandalism] just reinforces this behavior (see positive feedback). This vandalspace supports the notion that vandalism is acceptable on Wikipedia, thus encouraging vandalism to occur on other parts of Wikipedia.
  2. WP:ENC says, "Wikipedia is an encyclopedia." This vandalspace does not contribute to building an encyclopedia.
  3. WP:UP#GAMES is applicable because this page provides a playground for vandals and even a constructive editor who wrote in his edit summary EPIC VANDALISM!!!. I have looked through the page history of User:Sillybillypiggy/Vandalism space and do not see how this gamepage contributes to "writing an encyclopedia".   That is very surprising! After a look around, here it is... Wikipedia:User page design center/Decor#Vandalism space A check of the page history indicates it has been there quite a while (at least since 2006).   I have removed the vandalspace section from Wikipedia:User page design center/Decor and will watch the page to see if there is any pushback. It is one thing to have a vandalspace, but promoting vandalspaces on "design center" page is very unhelpful. sillybillypiggy: thanks for taking the trouble to mention that page.
