WP:SOAPBOX; this isn’t an essay on editing but a very long pro-Confederate opinion piece. Dronebogus (talk) 08:52, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. This is pro-Confederate revisionism "disguised" as an essay, as well as a breach of WP:NOTWEBHOST. —Sundostund (talk) 09:59, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep: A perfectly reasonable user essay. If you don’t like the opinions, don’t read it. If the user’s edits are crossing any lines, before for this essay to be there. SmokeyJoe (talk) 12:59, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment - Long. Haven't yet read. Clearly meant to be read before being reacted to. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:11, 4 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. A personal user essay explaining in some detail how his view (of the Confederacy and appropriate coverage) was formed. I have to thank User:Dronebogus for inadvertently reminding me exactly why I remembered Ghost, at the time of his edits an active duty U.S. Marine. His talk page archive reads like a panel of Wikipedian ACW legends arguing against this guy's positions. Heck, I even offered to buy the fellow lunch at one point. He got an ACW barnstar from User:Roger Davies for helping create the ACW barnstar. At one point in a dispute Roger quotes User:Kirill Lokshin about the purpose of Wikipedia. Both these guys were multi-term Arbs and are both Coordinators Emeritus of the MilHist project (the first two). None of that gives this revisionism page any special luster but the background makes me think that all his sandboxes and subpages should probably be kept in order NOT to unduly edit Wikipedia history. - Keep per BusterD. Hog Farm Talk 13:58, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep per my argument on the MFD for User:Grayghost01 (parent page) above. Martinp (talk) 14:15, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep - We don't do this sort of headhunting around here, or at least I hope we don't. People have latitude as to what they can have on their userspace, and more importantly, it informs as to the manner of their editing in a manner that is useful for administrators.--🌈WaltCip-(talk) 15:11, 8 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep. This is really more of a punt vote as I agree with what has already been said. - Knowledgekid87 (talk) 15:53, 10 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
