Procedural nomination: originally (incorrectly) at TfD.[1] Rationale is "Delete or reformat This template currently categorizes into "Wikipedians in North Korea", but the text says "Wikipedians from North Korea" which is not even close to the same meaning. As the Internet (nevermind Wikipedia) is not available in North Korea, if you were in North Korea, you would not be able to access Wikipedia, making this an impossible categorization. Keep (as not-nom "nom") - I don't understand real-nom's first complaint, really; while current uses seem to be false, there is the slim possibility that we could have a NK defector from Pyongyang edit. Don't think this being improbable would cause a deletion - doesn't as far as I can tell fail WP:UP#NOT. Ansh666 18:19, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment I am the original nominator (my IP has rolled over) This template currently categorizes into "Wikipedians in North Korea", but this template says "from" and is used to categorize into the category. So if the primary meaning is "in North Korea", then the template text is wrong, and this is impossible due to the nature of Internet access in North Korea. If this is for "from North Korea", then the MFD outcome should be the renaming of the category, since as is, it is implying someone in North Korea and editing Wikipedia, which makes them a likely North Korean intelligence and propaganda agent. - It says "comes from" which means any number of things. If you came from North Korea 60 years ago, as a refugee from the war, but are now a citizen of Iceland, you're no longer a resident of North Korea, but you still came from there. -- 70.24.249.39 (talk) 05:12, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Delete - We already have Template:User in North Korea and Template:User from North Korea. This template does not receive the same maintenance attention as these other two templates, so "fixing the category" is not the answer. The template name is misleading because it implies it is for User:North Korea. Also, as 70.24.244.158 points out above, the name of the template and its contents can result in conveying information about the editor using the template on their user page that is not correct and/or not intended by the editor. This template is a substantial duplication of other templates, has the same categorizing functionality provided by other templates, and creates confusion when used on user pages. The six users currently using this template[2] can instead use Template:User in North Korea, Template:User from North Korea, Template:User citizen North Korea, and/or Template:User interest North Korea. -- Jreferee (talk) 14:33, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
