Portal:Hindu mythology[edit]

Another abandoned draft portal.

Created in April 2008‎ by Emishi (talk · contribs), it has never advanced beyond the daft stage of having a few boxes with static content. As can be seen at Special:PrefixIndex/Portal:Hindu mythology, it has several subpages, but all of them have been abandoned for years. e.g.

Portal:Hindu mythology/Selected article has been only tweaked[1] since April 2008‎
Portal:Hindu mythology/Selected personage has been only tweaked[2] since April 2008

WP:POG#How_often_to_update? says that unless automated, the content selection should be updated monthly, or preferably weekly. Even on a monthly cycle, this pseudo-portal has missed over 130 consecutive updates.

Note that in January 2019‎, @The Transhumanist converted[3] this portal to an automated format which drew its content list solely from the navbox Template:Hindu mythology, making the portal simply a redundant fork of the navbox. (For a full explanation of why this type of portal is redundant, see the two mass deletions of similar portals: one, and two, where there was overwhelming consensus of a very high turnout to delete a total of 2,555 such portals). So I have reverted[4] it to the last non-automated version.

It is time to stop wasting the time of readers by luring them to this abandoned draft. So I propose that this portal and its sub-pages be deleted per [WP:TNT]], without prejudice to recreating a curated portal in accordance with whatever criteria the community may have agreed at that time. Delete - Yet another yet another abandoned heritage portal that was never really implemented as a portal. No need for any unrealistic good-faith arguments about editing and tagging that have not happened, until the editor (or magician) comes along. (If a magician, the incantations will be in Sanskrit.)
