At the Statistics Edit-a-thon we'll work on articles related to the field of statistics and statistical activities such as censuses and surveys. The Wikimedia-DC chapter is running it, with the support of the American Statistical Association , as part of the International Year of Statistics . We'll train anyone new to Wikipedia.
In the metro station take the 9th St exit and the library will be just across the intersection diagonally
To find our room turn left once in the library. We're in a small glass-walled room on the main floor, and will expand into others as needed.
We can chat quietly. Our room is not enclosed, and we can't have food there.

Editors working hard
At the Statistics Edit-a-thon, Wikipedians edit on 8 December 2013 in the Digital Commons Room 5 at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library (9th & G Streets NW, Washington DC; Gallery Place Metro Station) Kicking off the meeting 2pm: Arrive, chat quietly, experienced editors start editing
2-2:30: Introductions to one another, and brief presentation of some background materials to use (and, keep editing as you like)
2:30-3ish: Intro to editing, for anyone new to it -- brief presentation, then one-on-one
3-4:45: Editing, reading, chatting. Brief talks?
5 must depart In the event, extreme weather made the library officials shut down the whole place around 3:45 and we went across the street to the National Portrait Gallery which turned out to be entirely fine and fun and we continued past 5:30.
Do I have to register to attend, or can I just arrive on the day?
Because of space limits, please RSVP in advance if possible. Yes, you can just show up on the date. Do I have to be a Wikipedia editor already?
No, this event is open to everyone. We can show you the basics of how to edit. We'll refer to these:
How to edit Wikipedia
