@Minorax: Done. Replaced the GIF file on the article page with the new SVG version (obtained from the link above). HapHaxion(talk / contribs) 00:19, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed! That was mighty fast. Although, respectfully, perhaps in SVG and optimized? I thought it might be useful on the projects. Fry1989eh? 19:06, 28 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Fry1989: Please see if the above SVG version is sufficient. Shyamal (talk) 16:18, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't speak SVG, so I don't know what's wrong, but this file is marked with The source code of this SVG is invalid due to 92 errors. Could you create a valid SVG with the same content? Nyttend (talk) 19:38, 6 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Could someone please create an SVG file of the banner used by the Earl of Rosse, as seen here. It's a banner of the Earl's coat of arms, provided above. Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 18:29, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is an image from an 1855 newspaper, and is therefore slightly coloured and unclear. Could this please be whitened and sharpened to look like a decent image? Many thanks. -- SchroCat (talk) 14:32, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@SchroCat: I have set the white level to the background and increased the contrast at bit and overwritten your image. Let me know if this is fine. Shyamal (talk) 04:53, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Shyamal, that's great - thanks very much! - SchroCat (talk) 09:15, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@SchroCat: have set the white level, increased contrast and converted to greyscale. Your images are overwritten. Let me know if that is ok. Shyamal (talk) 05:03, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It would be amazing if someone could make a SVG version of this logo with transparency. We will be holding an editathon with Newfields soon. Dominic·t 18:32, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Badge Man is currently up for featured article nomination, and I was wondering if someone could add a red circle/ring where the alleged assassin is. ~ HAL333 02:12, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This website has such a graphic although in black and white. Could you copy what they did, although with a circle instead of an oval? Their sizing is ideal as well. Thanks! ~ HAL333 02:12, 17 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - HAL333, I see that you've added a circle yourself. Are you satisfied with that? If so, could you mark this as resolved using the template ((resolved))? — Chris Woodrich (talk) 00:53, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for any mistake as this is my first time here. Can someone vectorize the logo for the National Assembly of Vietnam? A detailed, comparable but not-exactly-the-same image is attached above if you want to have a clear view of how it looks like, but I want a more accurate version instead of using the one with the domain of the congress's online portal. The logo found in this image (of this article from the Vietnamese National Assembly portal) is exactly what I expect: a circular logo colored after the Flag of Vietnam (or the Emblem of Vietnam), the stylized silhouette of the National Assembly Building of Vietnam with the emblem above the gate, in the central of the image and a flag flying above the building. The bigger Vietnamese line is "QUỐC HỘI VIỆT NAM" and the below line English line is "NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF VIET NAM", please use this English line instead of the domain in the attached Common file, and please also prefer the newer but simpler design of the red logo image instead of the older but more complicated existing file. The file can be licensed under {pd-logo} (with gov insignia template and communist symbol templates) if suitable. Thank you and expecting an early response! Hwi.padam 09:08, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thank you for everything, but can you make it a logo with the circular, red background and gold boder as shown on the rostrum? Hwi.padam 17:53, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can someone please vectorise this image from Public Transport Victoria? Can you please also make the image the same dimensions as the other example images above? -- HoHo3143 (talk) 07:04, 22 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The ferry logo has been vectorised.
To vectorise, open the pdf file with inkscape.
Then choose the icon, right click and click the ungroup option.
Copy the file, open a new document (size 512x512)
Then paste and increase icon size to 512x512.
Last save as inkscape .svg Purin128AL (talk) 12:04, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This logo is outdated and needs replacing. You can view the current version in this document (one of many where the logo is featured). Make sure you override the outdated version with the new logo to ensure that it is replaced on all pages. Also for the future, how do I save this logo from the document and vectorise it? Why is the end of the top caption line overwritten by the OWID (Our World in Data)Bold text logo when the SVG file is on the Commons or Wikipedia? It looks like the font size has expanded. Is it a problem with the font choice by OWID?
When I download the file from the source and open it in Firefox the top caption line does not do that. I also don't see a problem when I look at the SVG file at the source:https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/total-covid-deaths-per-million - Click on the map tab. Then click the download tab, and then the SVG or PNG link to get the file of your choice. --Timeshifter (talk) 05:46, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done It's normal for text to be rendered differently for various reasons. As there's plenty of space in the next line, I've moved three words over to balance the line lengths. Cheers, cmɢʟee⎆τaʟκ 06:22, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
cmglee. I checked in Firefox, Edge, and Chrome. The top caption line is still a problem, not the 2nd and 3rd lines you adjusted.
The top line of the SVG file when viewed on Wikipedia is overlapped by the OWID logo.
The SVG file is fine when viewed outside Wikipedia.
Thanks for: Wikipedia:SVG_help#font-family_issues. OWID must be using a font that Wikipedia can't use. So Wikipedia is substituting another font that ends up being bigger, and thus the top line extends farther to the right. And then the OWID logo overlaps the end of the top line. --Timeshifter (talk) 07:22, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think it was a cache issue, in any case, I moved the logo to the bottom right. Shyamal (talk) 09:49, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Shyamal. I don't think it is a caching problem. I always use Ctrl-F5 in my Firefox browser to pull up the latest upload.
I hope OWID is reading this thread. They may consider moving the logo to the bottom left or bottom right. I pointed OWID to this thread by using their feedback form. I also hope they crop the white space on the right side of the map.
The weird thing is that the overlap of the end of the top caption line is only seen if the problematic (unedited) versions of the SVG file are the current version of the file. The current version is the one used in Wikipedia articles.
Because of the overlap problem the PNG versions are found at COVID-19 pandemic by country and territory.
Please don't fix the SVG versions for now. I want OWID to see the problem. And fixing the SVG versions won't last long because some of these OWID SVG files are frequently updated here on Wikipedia with the latest version found at the OWID source.
OWID might also consider using Wikipedia compatible fonts. Currently the file has this styling for fonts:
This paragraph seems particularly relevant since an 18px font size is different for different fonts:
Since local rendering should be as close as possible to Wikipedia, it should use locally the same font as it will have on Wikipedia, if available. Therefore always define a Wikimedia-font first. Also, Wikimedia has synonyms for substituting fonts, such as "Arial" for "Liberation Sans"; therefore font-family="Arial,DejaVu Sans" will be rendered by "Liberation Sans" and not (as expected) by "DejaVu Sans". (This is because "Liberation Sans" has the same letter size as "Arial" [metric-compatible], so it is less likely to mess up the text flow.)
I got a reply from OWID, and it looks like they are fixing the problem:

thank you for bringing this problem to our attention. We indeed have a pretty simple solution that should go a long way towards resolving the issue (basically, specifying Wikipedia-compatible fonts in our svg exports).
We didn't get around to doing this just yet (it's Friday night, after all ;) ), but will do this in the coming days.
If you're interested, you can take a look at what the situation will look like after this change here: https://github.com/owid/owid-grapher/issues/1993
Have a nice weekend,

Could someone please create an SVG file of the flag flown atop Worcester Cathedral, as seen here. It would consist of the cathedral's COA placed in the canton of the English flag, both provided above. Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 23:28, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, graphics folks! You've been very helpful in the past with specific illustration requests, providing great maps and other images. This time, I just need your opinions as experts in putting together design elements, in particular, for a new barnstar. I was wowed by an amazing user script created in response to this user script request, and I want to award the author a "scripting barnstar", but I there isn't one, yet. I made a request at the project page for barnstars, and I've gotten one response back already, but I'm looking for additional feedback on the graphic design elements for this new star. Please add your feedback at this discussion. Thanks! Mathglot (talk) 01:25, 14 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Flag of the Church of St James the Great, Birlingham
Would someone please create an SVG file of the flag flown atop the Church of St James the Great (located in the village of Birlingham, Worcestershire), as seen here and here, using the templates provided above. Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 14:56, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@FOX 52: Thanks for doing this! Although is there any chance you could alter the flag in such a way that the two sections are the same size? Sorry about this. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 00:05, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Will someone please create an SVG file of the COA of Southwark Cathedral, as seen here and here. It would include elements from the Cathedral's flag (which is a banner of the arms), provided above. Thanks. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 16:44, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(Full disclosure: I did already make the same request on Sodacan's page back in November, but have yet to have a response)
Would someone be able to create images for the armorial bearings of a couple New Zealand cities that are currently missing them? Just the shields would be good if the full achievements are too much of a pain.
