Given that this image comes from a leaked development ROM (as discussed in the article that it is used in, Knuckles' Chaotix), I worry that it may fail WP:NFCC#4, particularly as interpreted at WP:NFC#Meeting the previous publication criterion. While Sega has seemed to turn a blind eye to the ROM's presence on the Internet, this game was, to my knowledge, never publicly shown off officially in this state, and "the creator doesn't care" goes against the precautionary principle.

As an additional note, WP:NFCC#8 compliance was previously discussed at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Knuckles' Chaotix/archive1. I do not challenge the contextual significance criterion, just previous publication. -BRAINULATOR9 (TALK) 03:17, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, looks like it needs to be removed. Sega hasn't published any images of the game so not sure if anything can be done except removal. TarkusABtalk/contrib 07:16, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging TheJoebro64 in case he knows something about Crackers's provenance that I don't. -BRAINULATOR9 (TALK) 02:57, 19 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The file is the book cover of Might Is Right (2005 Ed.), in which it's original version is published in the United States in 1896. The book original version cover is therefore in the public domain because of ((PD-US-expired)), and the file should be deleted for WP:NFCC#1 violation. 廣九直通車 (talk) 09:40, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

See this Internet Archive page for the released PD scan. The claim that it is a copyrighted book cover is also an egregiously wrong claim as well.廣九直通車 (talk) 09:42, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe this image qualifies for fair use because the parent article is about optical wireless communications in general and not a specific ESA satellite. NASA has some nice images that can be used instead. Ixfd64 (talk) 18:35, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Delete We never use fair use images to demonstrate general concepts. A free diagram could be created. The Quirky Kitty (talk) 07:15, 16 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
