Non-free photo being used on Double acting ship violating multiple WP:NFCC criteria. WP:NFCC1 No free equivalent available or could be created: Over 10 of these ships exist in the world and some have been operating for 10+ years, so while the action depicted isn't easy to reproduce due to operating in isolated ice-bound waters, a free version could realistically be taken or acquired. The free photo Image:Mackinaw cutting the ice.jpg shows a similar ship operating in a similar way. The article begins with the sentence "A double acting ship is a type of icebreaking ship designed to run ahead in open water and thin ice, but turn around and proceed astern (backwards) in heavy ice conditions". While USCGC Mackinaw incorporates some double acting ship features in its hull form and propulsion configuration, that description does not fit that particular ship: Mackinaw is an icebreaker which normally breaks ice with its icebreaker-type bow. The non-free photograph of Tempera is the only photograph in the article that clearly shows the unique operating mode of a ship for which this is the primary and sometimes even only way to operate in ice. • Delete - Sailing normally in open waters and sailing astern to break ice is easily understood with words and does need an image to understand that. So it fails in WP:NFCC#1 as it is replaceable with text. The key thing for these types of ship is breaking ice by sailing astern, and there is a free image demonstrating that key thing so it really fails WP:NFCC#1 in a second way. -- Whpq (talk) 01:25, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
