Non-free Japanese version of a cover. Claimed to be used for primary identification but is not in the infobox. And the cover image is very similar to the cover already in the infobox. Fails WP:NFCC#8 and WP:NFCC#3a. Whpq (talk) 03:14, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This song sample is stated to be be "For taking an example of this song". That's not an actual purpose. As used, there is no significant sourced commentary to justify the inclusion of this sample. Fails WP:NFCC#8. Whpq (talk) 03:15, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Actor Jason Flemyng portrayed the titular character in only the 2005 remake of The Quatermass Experiment. The actor hasn't made any subsequent appearances as the character to this date. Furthermore, prior actors portrayed the same character. I don't think the screenshot of the actor is any longer contextually significant to the character in question. Furthermore, there are free images of Flemyng (in case this screenshot gets deleted) and another actor Brian Donlevy, one of which I'll use soon. Hmm... Having second thoughts about the Flemyng image in Commons. That still doesn't ease my concerns about the screenshot. George Ho (talk) 03:49, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Uploaded the title card in 2013 as non-free. Recently changed the status to "PD-ineligible-USonly": screenshot has plain black background, text unoriginal, typeface well known and not complex. Unsure whether French law can consider the title card copyrightable (c:COM:France). If not, then transfer the title card to Commons. George Ho (talk) 09:37, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The sample's compliance with NFCC, especially "contextual significance", in the following articles must be evaluated: Alice in Chains, Alternative metal, Facelift (album), Man in the Box. Critical commentary to support it is insufficient in band, genre, and album articles, which may have enough text to convey their own topics without the sample. Unsure whether critical commentary is sufficient in the (main) song article. Just in case, I default to deciding that the song article can convey the understanding of the song without the sample, but I can stand corrected. George Ho (talk) 07:50, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Currently used in American popular music, Come as You Are (Nirvana song), and Nevermind. The genre article uses several samples, and I'm unsure whether the sample of Nirvana's "Come As You Are" is contextually significant to the US pop music genre. I'm unsure as well about its usage in the album article. I think the sample can belong in the song article as it possibly illustrates critical commentary there, but I can stand corrected. Readers can see in the screenshot a woman standing and another woman lying unconscious. However, the scene can be easily conveyed in text. Also, it doesn't help readers contextually understand the short film as a whole. Just now, I added the film's title card intended for an infobox, so I pushed this longstanding screenshot out into the body of the article. However, I still don't think it improves justification of using the screenshot. Image de-PRODded under assumption that screenshots are acceptable for use in Template:Infobox film. However, the infobox instructions doesn't mention any specific screenshot other than a title card, which can be used when an authentic poster or cover art is absent or nonexistent. Neither does WP:FILMPOSTER nor WP:FILMNFI. May likely be not contextually significant. George Ho (talk) 23:32, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
