Orphaned scan of a NASA badge. Previously used in an article that was deleted as a copyright violation. Insufficient source information for me to feel comfortable transferring to Commons. Note, previously nominated for deletion almost seven years ago when it was still in use: Wikipedia:Files for deletion/2014 January 27#File:James H Trainor NASA Badge 1.jpg  ★  Bigr Tex 03:35, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

File:Pope-leo-xiii-01.jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Wlkernan (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Orphaned image with insufficient source information. Commons has thirty images in c:Category:Paintings of Leo XIII as well as categories of illustrations, caricatures, sculptures, stained glass, and photographs. I don't believe that anyone will miss this poorly documented, low resolution image.

This image was nominated for speedy deletion for insufficient source information twice in June of 2013 by a single user. One closer noted in their comment "widely available image. Inevitable published prior to 1923." but did not bother to edit the description to point to any of the places they found it.

Note: If someone were to find source information, including artist and ideally something close to the year it was painted, I would expect that they would also find a higher resolution image and suggest that they just upload that one to Commons themselves. However, given that information I would be willing to transfer this image.  ★  Bigr Tex 03:58, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've exported the file to Commons, so it can be deleted from Wikipedia. It appears to be this painting by Franz von Lenbach (died 1904), and from this link the date appears to be 1886. Ham II (talk) 17:21, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I question the image's compliance with WP:NFCC#8, which requires files to be too significant to be deleted. It is currently used at the "beFour cover/version" section of "No Limit (2 Unlimited song)". As is, the image visually identifies the release of the beFour version of the song and nothing more. However, I'm not confident that the section's critical commentary, including stellar chart performance in German-speaking European countries, would sufficiently support the usage of the cover art, even as the virtue of the marketing, branding, and identification information conveyed. I'm also not confident that deleting this cover art would affect my understanding of one of 2 Unlimited's songs that would be later covered by another band. Furthermore, as I can assume, free images of the band who covered 2 Unlimited's song would adequately identify the band themselves. Re-reading the critical commentary, the impact of beFour's rendition seems either minimal or less at best. George Ho (talk) 07:26, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The image is clearly a poorly photoshopped cut-out of a Suzuki MotoGP copyrighted press release photo put onto a generic background. The original photo with original background can be seen on the official MotoGP website here as well as in some journalistic sources with clear Suzuki copyright marks such as can be seen here. Taking copyrighted images and photoshopping them onto generic backgrounds seems to be a typical modus operandi of the image source on Flickr, user "driver Photographer". This non-free image is not the subject of significant sourced commentary. Although there is text in the article, it is about Lo Ting in general and not about this specific image. Fails WP:NFCC#8. Whpq (talk) 14:03, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nominating for deletion since I'm not exactly sure if this is a copyright violation and whether this should be speedily deleted. This file is produced by a proprietary voice synthesis software, https://nextup.com/ivona/, which you can see in the file metadata. It is a poor synthesis at that, even if it weren't a copyright violation. Dylsss(talk contribs) 17:25, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The cover arts of re-releases of Finally (CeCe Peniston song) were previously orphaned (File:CCP F97 single.jpg and File:CCP Joyriders Finally.JPG) per Wikipedia:Non-free content review/Archive 24#Finally (CeCe Peniston song). Then they were re-uploaded using different copies of the same cover arts and different filenames. Those cover arts still fail WP:NFCC#8 and WP:NFCC#CS. The article's critical commentary as of date still doesn't support those visual identifiers of the re-releases. George Ho (talk) 22:57, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
