This file is no longer appropriate fair use. At the time it was added in 2013, construction of the bridge was just beginning. The bridge is now mostly complete, so use of the image is no longer fair use because a photo of the actual bridge can now be taken, uploaded, and used in the article. This image exists on Commons c:File:Poniatowski bridge - destroyed in 1915.jpg, where it's claimed it's author died in 1940. If correct this would render the local do not move to commons rationale invalid. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 15:39, 5 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The template was added in 2007 by User:Jarekt: [1]. Back then it might have been valid, 10 years later it seems like the usual case of those templates not being dated and creating problems now... waste of our time due to copyright paranoia. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 12:55, 7 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Piotrus and ShakespeareFan00: My edit 10 years ago was to add a license template. I find it weird that the license template comes with a message not to copy the file to Commons unless you know the copyright status of the image. That is true for all license templates. The license situation on Commons is a bit shaky as there is no proof that the photographer died before 1940 as stated by the license. I have seen images deleted for smaller issues. --Jarekt (talk) 14:39, 8 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned personal file, no foreseeable use. WP:NOTWEBHOST Jon Kolbert (talk) 05:29, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Keep as creator, it is used to work out the layout and formatting of my user page (User:Fish and karate), so serves a purpose. As a Wikipedia user, contributor, and administrator, it is helpful to dispay a friendly, clear, and welcoming user page. It is beneficial to me to have this file to ensure my user page formatting is consistent and achieves those aims. fish&karate 11:13, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Invalid arguments. The fact that he is admin is irrelevant, as admins should follow Wikipedia policies as well and they are not privilegied from this point of view. XXN, 21:01, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Please direct me to the policy that states this file should be deleted, rather than rudely dismissing other's opinions. WP:NOTWEBHOST states (my emphasis) "Please upload only files that are used (or will be used) in encyclopedia articles or project pages; anything else will be deleted". This file is used for a project page (my user page). fish&karate 20:50, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Poor quality, unclear image. XXN, 14:30, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objection if it replaced by a better quality image. It was taken on a late fall afternoon and is backlit. However, the picture's point is the cemetery's one-sided blandness, so I most definitely do object to its removal without replacement. It is used in the Ellwood Manor article (that I initially wrote), to illustrate the section about the American Civil War, in which the manor featured on several levels. The small fenced-in cemetery surrounds a large tree on a hillock among farm fields. The only monument/gravestone is to Stonewall Jackson's arm, although many family members are buried there, including a woman (Hannah Jones Coalter) who went to extraordinary lengths attempting to free her dozens of slaves in her will, only to have her final wishes circumvented by the Lacy brothers and their allies in Virginia Supreme Court shortly before the war.Jweaver28 (talk) 20:59, 20 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Probable copyvio. Uploader has had all their Commons contributions deleted, and is currently blocked there, for uploading images with inaccurate "self-made" claims. This appears to be another example of the same violation. In any event, since it's taken from a published blog, it would likely require OTRS confirmation even without the uploader's disquieting history of violations. The Big Bad Wolfowitz (aka Hullaballoo). 1924 painting - copyrighted in US as wel. XXN, 20:55, 27 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Painting was uploaded by myself as an educational resource from my personal collection of paintings from B&H which I use in my lectures. However, when I uploaded it I was not fully aware of creative ownership. Even though it was made in 1925., since the author has died only in 1964 I think you should remove it so we don't breach actual owners rights. It will be missed. --Prof saxx (talk) 10:58, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The screenshot is used in the plot section of The Andromeda Strain (film) against WP:FILMNFI in that the plot section describes the film and is not critical commentary of the image itself. There is no critical commentary of the image itself in the article, it does nothing to increase the reader's understanding of the film and its exclusion is not detrimental to the understanding of the film, thereby failing WP:NFCC#8.
