The result of the discussion was: This image is standard practice to keep editors from using this image name. Placeholder images are not universally accepted and frankly this is a terrible image name on Commons or here locally to be used for any purpose. I'm declining this deletion discussion request.

This is the official logo but without the silhouette of the batsman (otherwise it would not be in PD) and the sponsors, "arise india and cycle-pure agarbathies". Keeping in mind that Wikipedia is not for promotion they have been duly omitted.

Original logos which are completely text are acceptable (such as File:Sony logo.svg), but there is nothing written in Wikipedia:Logos about modifying copyrighted logos so that they are eligible to be ((PD-logo)), and such modifications can be misleading and could be seen by the logo's authors as a copyright or trademark violation. In addition to the changes mentioned above, the cricket ball has also been changed to a solid red circle. If the logo should be used, it should be the full one (possibly without the sponsor logo at the bottom, as it is not considered to be part of the main logo) under fair use, if it complies with the non-free content criteria, otherwise it should not be used at all. jfd34 (talk) 07:03, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
